Thank you for considering our school for your child. We are an Imagine Charter School that accepts parents as partners in the education of their children. We have six measures of excellence that are engrained in all we
do at the school.
We believe that, given a choice of public schools, parents will seek out the best school for their child. Thus, parents are the most reliable accountability and measure of quality. Shared Values: Shared values are at the heart of who we want to be. Three particular values guide our work as an organization: Integrity. Justice, Fun.
Imagine Schools evaluates academic achievement primarily through same student learning gains, similar to the approach used by KIPP and advocated as an appropriate measure of school quality by the Obama Administration. By testing students at the start of the year, our teachers learn what students know and in what areas they need the most improvement. Testing students at year-end then shows how far each student advances during the school year.
Positive character development in our schools is not a nice add-on in the curriculum – it is a crucial aspect of a quality school. We believe that a school must cultivate a culture of character in order to be a successful learning community.
Economic sustainability at Imagine Schools means spending less each year on school operations than we receive in revenue from the government and other sources. At Imagine Schools we take living within our means very seriously.
New School Development:
The demand for public schools of choice across the United States is insatiable. Of the 5,453 charter schools nationwide, Imagine Schools operates 72 campuses serving 40,000 students. National attention by leaders of both political parties have favored expansion of charter schools. The Center for Education Reform reports that charter schools are a growing part of the educational landscape in 39 states and the District of Columbia.
